I found it extremely hard to adapt to this type of dance, as Contemporary is one of my weakness. I found it difficult to stretch out my arms and legs while performing. I mainly think it is because I am not flexible enough, which prevents me to perform to my best ability. I lose focus while performing this piece as I am mostly focused on getting the movements right and performing as if I am comfortable with the choreography... when I'm not really. I believe I need to be more confident in my self while performing Overdrive as it shows upon my face while I perform and I need to also be aware of my angles and alignments.

Richard Alston includes different angels in Overdrive which confuses me so much as there is a lot of diagonals which you move upon while performing this routine. I am normally only used to performing to the front or back, not up stage right or left. So definitely this was new to me, but I am trying my absolute best to get it right, as dancing is my passion and my aim is to be able to dance in all genre's... contemporary, jazz and commercial hip hop etc.
I've improved in stretching out my flicks as stretching out my arms and legs by improving my balance, i would sometimes at home just lift one of my legs up for as long as I can focusing mainly to make my torso and posture stronger, this has mainly helped as it is shown in my performance now in section 1. I can prove this as Courtney my class mate had moderated me and observed while performing and has picked up upon that.
